Cathy holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Intellectual Disability) from RMIT University and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. With over 10 years of experience in not-for-profit organisations, she has worked a diversity of roles including as case management for individuals and their families to develop goals, apply for funding, and make referrals for allied health and other necessary supports. She has also developed multidisciplinary teams for individuals and played a crucial role in creating and implementing Justice plans.
Cathy’s experience extends to working with adults with disabilities transitioning from prison into the community and assisting with housing and work placements. Cathy’s innate empathy for individuals and their families facing challenges fuels her passion for ensuring that everyone can thrive. She finds deep fulfillment in building relationships with individuals, their families, and support networks, working collaboratively to design effective behaviour support plans. Seeing participants achieve milestones, no matter how small, is a constant reminder of the significant impact PBS practitioners can have.
She specialises in working with children and teenagers with diagnoses of ID, ASD, ADHD,
ODD, and PDA, as well as complex family dynamics and multidisciplinary approaches, including supporting children and teenagers experiencing school refusal.
